Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta is always looking for volunteers to help plan, coordinate and execute program and fund raising events.

Volunteer Committee Members

Event Committees are responsible for planning, coordinating and executing Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta events. Committee duties include:

• Program planning
• Organizing logistics
• Marketing, promoting and recruiting event participants
• Soliciting sponsorships, contributions and in-kind donations
• Coordinating event volunteers

Event Volunteers

Volunteers are needed the day of each event to set up, run registration, execute program activities and breakdown/clean up. Most events are run in shifts and volunteers have the flexibility to work the entire event or portions of it.

Center Volunteers

Interested in being a mentor to girls and inspiring them to be strong, smart and bold?

Our Cobb/Marietta Center is always looking for caring adults to provide the following services during after-school and summer camp programming:

1. Tutor elementary and middle school girls in the areas of reading, math, science, social studies, language arts and foreign language.
2. Present education and career experiences, especially non-traditional careers.
3. Chaperone field trips to local venues.
4. Provide clerical support to program staff.

Outreach Volunteers

Interested in being a mentor to girls and inspiring them to be strong, smart and bold?

Our Outreach Department is currently recruiting volunteer facilitators to provide our programs to girls in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Volunteer should:

1. have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the metro Atlanta area, specifically Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties,
2. be willing to participate in Volunteer Orientation and complete Volunteer Training and pre-facilitation requirements,
3. be willing to help collect evaluation and outcome measurement data,
4. be knowledgeable and comfortable talking about sexuality and other health related topics in front of parents and girls,
5. be an advocate for Girls Inc. and passionate about girls' and women's issues,
6. be excited about taking our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold into the community!

Girls Advocacy Night:
Girls Inc. 101 is a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn about local issues facing girls and what programs Girls Inc of Greater Atlanta provides to the community to help young women overcome these issues. In addition, participants will learn of the many ways they can become advocates for girls!
